The production of two short films ended the first digital video workshop production, with members from the community of Cidade Nova neighborhood. It surrounds the Jandiá canal, where the boat Paco Nunes stays anchored: Navegar Amazônia’s itinerant base. The workshop was held at the ambits of Sustentabilidade Ambiental project (Environmental Sustainability) at the Jandiá canal, with the partnership of Oi Futuro.
Seven youngsters, Escola Estadual Maria Ivonne students, spent three days leaning the basic concepts of photography and video, handling videocameras, and finally planned and shot two short films. The themes were selected by the students themselves. “O Tradicional Futlama” (by Anderson da Silva Moraes, Camila Lemos Maciel, Cristiane da Gama Favacho and Larissa Kelly da Gama Favacho) and “A Transformação do Canal do Jandiá” (by Jocely Alves Rodrigues, Cristina Suélen and Elvis Maciel Trindade) will be available at Navegar Amazônia’s website.
Presently, the intent of this workshop was not to form professionals in the field, but to awake the interest for the subject, with the possibility of continuing with other future workshops.
