In 2006, Navegar Amazônia invited to a journey with Jorge Mautner, the couple Fabrício and Krithika do Canto and their little daughter, Raven.
Since then a very close partnership formed between Navegar Amazônia and the Universidade Nômade, which develops a project similar to ours, the Rainbow Children This project aims helping the Ganges population in need.
In order to continue this partnership, they have invited Marcia e Jorge Bodanzky to document a month journey through the Ganges on their boat. On the other hand, next year, they will take a journey through the Amazon River on our boat, in the company of innumerous Berlin artists.
RAINBOW-CHILDREN PROJECT 2007 ACTIVITIES
June/July – Research and life experiences at the foreigners’ quilombo in Dharamsala, India. In the attached picture you can see the children (Raven and Raiz, Fabrício and Khritika’s children) crossing the Yak o Lo Thang, a 4.000 meters high passage.
September/August – Research and documentary about the children who are victimized by the political instability in Kashmir. They will go there with their two children to play and document the orphans’ life, both on the military and the so-called terrorist sides.
October – Krithika’s photo exhibit of photos she took on a boat at Varanasi, the City of Lights, the place where Buddha gave his first speech and also one of the most ancient cities in the History of the Earth. This exhibit will take place at Navegar’s boat and there they will have workshops with young people and will also organize a film festival, including Navegar Amazônia works.
November 1st to November 15th – An exhibit on Navegar Amazônia and Navegar Ganges at Bangalore.
From November 30th to March – The Rainbow-Children at the CrystalWelt made by Andre Heller for the Austrian Swarovski.
