On Wednesday, June 20th, Navegar Amazônia in partnership with Oi Futuro will be promoting an environmental action at the low course of the Jandiá Canal.
This action will rely with the volunteer participation of students of the Gerenciamento Ambiental (Environmental Management) course of FAMA College.
The goal is to sensitize the inhabitants, the boat owners, lumbermen and tradesmen towards the environment preservation, minimizing the wasting in rivers and public streets.
Another parallel action is to stimulate this people to demand the appropriate gathering of domestic waste by the city hall of Macapá. Currently, the waste is scattered on the streets and has been thrown in the rivers running water.
There isn’t a satisfactory number of containers and the waste gathering is inappropriate. These are very serious problems, and people have to be aware of them.
This action is one of the goals of the “Sustentabilidade Ambiental no Canal do Jandiá” project (Environmental Sustainability at the Jandiá Canal), developed by the Navegar Amazônia OSCIP, based on this project’s area.
