The Navegar Amazônia OSCIP, in partnership with Oi Futuro, is organizing workshops for the reutilization of the domestic waste at the Jandiá Canal community.
This action is one of the goals of the “Sustentabilidade Ambiental no Canal do Jandiá” project (Environmental Sustainability at the Jandiá Canal).
This project offers all the instruments and materials necessary to the making of handicrafts with solid residues produced within our households. The community contributes by taking their own waste. Plastic bottles in different sizes, beer and soda cans, old magazines, Styrofoam trays, yogurt cups, glass: all of these materials are transformed into objects for decoration, utilities and jewelry.
Besides minimizing the impact on the environment, stimulating creativity, this activity will provide income for the community. One of the goals is to organize and set a little bazaar, where the handicrafts can be commercialized at the local community.
This workshop is happening at Escola Maria Ivone de Menezes, a partner of the project. There, students, teachers and housewives are building a new world vision, starting a new way of understanding our role when it comes to the necessity of reducing, reutilizing and recycling um of the world’s greatest problems: What can we do with all the waste produced by modern society?
The Navegar Amazônia OSCIP proposal plans the construction of a better world, respecting all human beings, the culture and the preservation of the environment.
