On June 20th, at Macapá, volunteer students of the Macapá College (FAMA) acted on the Environmental Sustainability at the Jandiá Canal Project, implemented by Navegar Amazônia and Oi Futuro, through the Novos Brasis program.
The goal of this action was to sensitize the boat owners, lumbermen and tradesmen that have their enterprises at the Jandiá Canal surroundings, causing serious environmental impacts with the solid residues discharges into the river and public streets.
The students informed the population about the importance of conserving water and about the problems brought by the domestic waste.
This is another action for environmental awareness and search for partnership between academic institutions and the inhabitants of where the project acts.
